Winds built from light to heavy, but the competitive racing and colossal nightly parties stayed strong all weekend at the 4th annual Culebra Heineken International Regatta, the second leg of the 2008 Cape Air Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle (C.O.R.T.) Series.

"It looks like we may have had as many as another six C.O.R.T. entries in Culebra," says Julie San Martin, director of the St. Croix International Regatta.

Devil 3 from St. Croix, sailed by the Stanton brothers, retained its dominance in the Spinnaker I class, while St. Thomas' John Foster's Kirby 25, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly clearly leads Spinnaker II.

It looks like the third and last leg of the 2008 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series will be the decider for the Racer-Cruiser class. Both the BVI's Peter Haycraft, helming his Sirena 38, Pipedream, and Puerto Rico's Sergio Sagramoso, driving his Beneteau First 40.7, Lazy Dog, are tied for first.

St. Croix's Howard Silverman's Mary Ellen continues its lead in the Jib & Main Class, as does Puerto Rico's Fraito Lugo's Orion in the IC-24 Class.

The 2008 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series will continue and conclude with the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival April 4 to 6.

Winners of the 2008 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series will be announced at the series conclusion in the BVI. First place finishers in each class will be awarded round-trip tickets for two good for any route Cape Air flies in the Caribbean. First, second and third place boats in each of the classes - Spinnaker A, Spinnaker B, Racer-Cruiser, Performance Cruiser, IC24, and Jib & Main - will receive $100, $75 and $50 gift certificates, respectively, from West Marine. The first place finisher in each class will also receive foul weather gear.
