Traditionally Pigeon, Point Heritage Park, has been a hub of activity for the world's wind surfers and kite boarders who come to catch the consistent North Easterly winds that blow across the lagoon during the first five months of the year. The organizers of the regatta feel strongly that the addition of these 'wind lovers' will add to the overall excitement and will provide lots of entertainment the spectators. As one organiser envisioned, "Imagine if you can, Big boats in the distance, Bum Boats out front beyond the Buccoo reef, kite boarders and Winder surfers on the right in the Nylon Pool and the Lagoon, and the Optimists safely sailing outside of Storebay to the left. Standing on Pigeon Beach looking out, there will be colourful sails everywhere, as far as your eyes can see. It will be spectacular!" Regatta organizers have teamed up with Rikki Knowles at Radical Sports in Tobago to put together a package to entice visitors to be part of the fun. As many international airlines no longer allow passengers to take along their boards on flights, Radical Sports Tobago is offering a wide range of boards from the Mistral and Starboard Boards for beginners through to expert from 215 to 84 liter boards, along with North and Tushingham sails, from the beginners 2.0m training rigs to 8.0m Tushingham T3's.
