Winners Named in the 2008 CORT Series

(Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle) Series, which kicked-off with the St. Croix International Regatta in February and included the Culebra Heineken International Regatta in March, concluded with the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, held April 4 to 6, out of Nanny Cay Marina, Tortola, BVI.

Series.

| Racer Cruiser C.O.R.T. class leader, Lazy Dog, barrels down the Buck Island Channel. | Brisk winds and boatloads of competition set the scene at the 15th annual St. Croix International Regatta, the kick-off event for the 2008 Cape Air Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle (C.O.R.T.) Series. “We had about 15 boats sign up for C.O.R.T. in St. Croix,” says Angel Ayala, C.O.R.T. organizer and director of the Culebra Heineken International Regatta. “Up to another five boats will be signing aboard for C.O.R.T. in Culebra. Enthusiasm is running strong.”

Blake | Having arrived in the BVI with an 11 point lead and displayed the same consistency that has won him many prizes in his Caribbean sailing career, Jamie Dobbs' Lost Horizon seemed assured of winning the series. By the end of the first day of racing at the BVI Spring Regatta, last leg of Cape Air CORT (Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle), it looked as though Lost Horizon's crown would be wrestled from its grip by Magnificent 7; a port starboard collision with St Thomas boat Uncle Sam had left Lost Horizon with a one foot hole on its port side. But a night out of the water in the yard had it back in the running and on the water the next day.
