Cape Air, the official airline of the 2008 Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle series, will award a round trip ticket to any of their Caribbean destinations to the winner of a raffle at the St. Croix International Regatta this weekend, February 9 and 10. All CORT entrants will be eligible for this raffle.

The Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle (CORT) is a trio of regattas that includes the St. Croix International Regatta, February 9 and 10, the Culebra Heineken International Regatta, March 15 and 16, and the BVI Spring Regatta, April 4 through 6.

To participate in the CORT series, entrants must register at the St. Croix International Regatta on 8 February 2008. The registration fee is $50 and the eligible classes are: Spinnaker A, Spinnaker B, Racer-Cruiser, Performance Cruiser, IC24, Jib & Main, and Beach Cats. First, second and third place boats in each of the classes will receive $100, $75 and $50 gift certificates, respectively, from West Marine. The first place finisher in each class will also receive foul weather gear. The overall class winners will be announced in Tortola at the BVI Spring Regatta in April based on the results of the three regattas.

“We are looking forward to increased participation in this long time Caribbean Series this year and are excited to offer the Cape Air airline ticket raffle. This makes participation an excellent value. Not only are there prizes for first through third places, entrants are now eligible for a valuable prize simply by registering and participating in this fun and competitive series – what a deal!” says Julie San Martin, St. Croix Regatta Director. “Each year we have seen increased participation in the CORT series and expect more than 30 entries for 2008.”
