Cape Air has been named the official airline of the 2009 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series and the Culebra Heineken International Regatta.

"Air and sea make for a perfect partnership," says Cape Air President, Dan Wolf. "All of us at Cape Air are proud to sponsor an event that brings such support to the Island's sailing community. Congratulations for C.O.R.T. and fair winds to all of the sailors."

The Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle Series, C.O.R.T. for short, is a trio of regattas that includes the St. Croix International Regatta, the Culebra Heineken International Regatta, and the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival.

The 2009 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series kick's off with the St. Croix International Regatta, set for February 20 to 22 and hosted out of the St. Croix Yacht Club in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Julie San Martin, regatta director, says, "We're expecting racers from as far away as Trinidad and St. Martin this year, as well as our good friends from the BVI, Puerto Rico and the other US Virgin Islands."

A round-trip ticket for two good for Cape Air routes in the Caribbean will be raffled to sailors at the conclusion of the St. Croix International Regatta.

The second leg of the 2009 C.O.R.T. Series, the Culebra Heineken International Regatta and the Culebra International Dinghy Regatta, will be held March 20 to 22. "It is with great joy we invite you all to hop on board with us to compete, sail and have fun in the most prestigious sailing event in the Caribbean," invites regatta director, Angel Ayala.

A round-trip ticket for two good for Cape Air routes in the Caribbean will be raffled to sailors at the conclusion of the Culebra Heineken International Regatta.

Bob Phillips, chairman of the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival, set for March 30 to April 5, adds, "We are happy to be part of the 2009 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series and honored to present the awards to the winning boats and sailors."

Winners of the 2009 Cape Air C.O.R.T. Series will be announced at the series conclusion in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. A round-trip ticket for two good for Cape Air routes in the Caribbean will be raffled to sailors at the conclusion of the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival. In addition, round-trip tickets for two will be awarded to the first place finisher in each of the six C.O.R.T. Classes: Spinnaker Racing I, Spinnaker Racing II, Racer Cruiser, IC24, Jib & Main and Beach Cats. First, second and third place boats in each of the classes will receive $100, $75 and $50 gift certificates, respectively, from West Marine. The first place finisher in each class will also receive foul weather gear.

Cape Air offers convenient and reliable hourly flights that make travel between Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Croix and Tortola easier than ever.

The airline also offers special joint fares and convenient connections with major airlines, making it easier for sailors anywhere in the world to get to their favorite Caribbean destination.
