Guadeloupe
November 8, 9 and 10th, more than 600 sailors and friends gathered on and off the water at Marina Bas du Fort at Gosier for the eighth edition of Guadeloupe™s Triskell Cup. 60 boats in five classes (Coastal, Beach Cats, Multi-hulls, Spinnaker 1 and Spinnaker 2) competed under ideal conditions, with 10 to 13 knots of wind and blue skies. After racing, the crowd was in party mode.
There was a lot of excitement in the Costal Class, which had more than a 200% increase in entries over 2007. Nineteen boats graced the starting line. Regardless, the Spinnaker 1 class was the top dog in terms of numbers with 22 entries. Spinnaker 2 played host to a number of young sailors crewing on "First Class 8" and "Surprise".
Plans are already underway for the ninth edition of the Triskell Cup, October 31 - November 2, 2009.
