Mr. Juul Hermsen, the founder of the GRR (R) and Pieter Alders at recognition ceremony.
Pieter Alders, the winner of the summer months Wednesday Night challenge at the Flevomare Yacht Club in Muiderzand, The Netherlands, will be competing in the Golden Rock Regatta next month. Pieter is getting a team together to set sail in the GRR November 8 - 14. With Pieter's entry, the GRR will set a new registration record.

Since its inception, the Golden Rock Regatta has had ties with and support from the Flevomare Yacht Club starting with Ruud Brouwer as its first Race Officer. Each year at least one Flevomare team has participated. The Golden Rock Regatta has promoted the participation at the St. Maartin GRR regatta through an annual prize to the winning team of the Flevomare's Wednesday night competition.

The Flevomare Yacht club is a young, dynamic club, race oriented with its base in the Marina Muiderzand in The Netherlands.

In other GRR news, Mr. Juul Hermsen, founder of the GRR, was recently presented a painting by Pauline van Roon, yachtswomen and an artist, for his four years of sponsoring the main prize at the Flevomare Wednesday Night Challenge. The 100 cm x 120 cm oil on canvas painting depicts a crowded start of the Flevorace Race.
